morrocotudo

morrocotudo [adjective] – ginormous, humongous, intense, difficult

I love it when I come across a word I’ve never heard of before, especially one as delicious-sounding as this. I heard it recently on the satirical current affairs programme ‘El Intermedio’, and I don’t remember the exact context but the phrase used was “un lío morrocotudo“. Sums up Spain’s current political and economic crisis rather wonderfully, I thought.
